Purchasing a Japanese used vehicle through JCT is a straightforward 8-step process.
Browse our website for available stock, or contact us directly with your requirements: make, model, year, grade, colour, mileage preference, budget (CNF or FOB), and destination port. You are under no obligation at this stage. Reach us by email, WhatsApp, or the enquiry form.
Our team will provide an estimated vehicle price, ocean freight (CNF), total charges, deposit amount, and balance. We can also share sample auction inspection sheets on request. No formal document is issued at this stage.
When you are ready to proceed, we issue a Proforma Invoice (PI) showing the total amount, deposit, balance, and payment terms. Please pay the deposit within 7 days of receiving the PI to confirm your order and authorise JCT to bid at auction on your behalf. Once a bid is placed, the deposit is non-refundable.
JCT bids at the relevant auction(s). You will be notified of the result promptly. If the vehicle is won, we send you the full auction sheet, photos, and purchase confirmation. If the vehicle is not won, we will refund your deposit (less JPY 5,000 bank charge) or discuss alternatives.
After procurement, JCT handles all Japanese export procedures: deregistration (cancellation of Japanese registration), export declaration (where applicable), and booking with the freight forwarder and shipping line.
JCT will issue a Final Invoice either before or after vessel departure, in accordance with your agreed payment terms. Please pay the full balance within 7 days of receiving the Final Invoice. JCT will notify you promptly upon confirming receipt. After full payment is confirmed, the B/L Surrender will be processed or the original B/L will be issued and dispatched.
After confirming full payment, JCT will send all shipping documents: B/L Surrender confirmation or Original B/L, Export Certificate (Japanese deregistration), Commercial Invoice and Packing List, and any other documents required by your destination country.
When the vessel arrives at your destination port, present the relevant documents to the shipping agent or port authority, pay all applicable import duties and customs clearance fees, complete customs formalities, and collect your vehicle from the port yard. JCT is available to assist with any post-arrival questions.
