Shipping Methods

RO/RO (Roll-on / Roll-off)

The most common and cost-effective method for standard passenger cars, SUVs, and light commercial vehicles. Vehicles are driven directly onto purpose-built RO/RO vessels.

Container Shipping

Recommended for high-value vehicles, customised units, or buyers requiring maximum protection. Vehicles are loaded into sealed 20ft or 40ft containers. Cost-effective for bulk orders sharing a container.

Port of Loading

JCT ships primarily from Nagoya Port — one of Japan’s largest and most active vehicle export hubs with frequent sailings worldwide. Osaka/Kobe and Yokohama ports are also used as required.

Export Documents

JCT prepares all standard Japanese export documents. The exact set of documents varies by destination country requirements:

  • Export Certificate (Japanese deregistration document )
  • Bill of Lading (B/L) — Original, Surrendered B/L, or Sea Waybill
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Packing List
  • Export Declaration — issued depending on destination country and cargo requirements
  • Other documents as required by the destination country’s regulations

Marine Insurance

Marine cargo insurance can be arranged upon request. Please advise at the time of ordering. If no insurance is arranged, all risk during ocean transit is borne by the buyer.
